The Greenway Carousel, located between Faneuil Hall and the Boston Harbor on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway in Boston, opened to the public on Labor Day Weekend 2013. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove surrounds the Carousel, enveloping it in verdant plantings and cool shade, inviting visitors to relax and enjoy this newest addition to the Greenway. This is the Foundation’s first major Urban Parks grant in Boston and it is pleased to support The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in this enhancement of the park.

The Greenway was created in 2008 following the “Big Dig” and is the roof of the Central Artery Tunnel. It weaves through the city for one mile and provides 15 acres of green space in downtown Boston. The Foundation is proud to support the Conservancy’s vision and innovation in making the Greenway one of Boston’s premiere green spaces.

This grant was awarded through the Foundation’s Urban Parks Program, which enriches communities by focusing on the rehabilitation, protection and creation of public urban green spaces for long-term use.
