Anisa Kamadoli Costa

Anisa Kamadoli Costa is Chairman and President of the Tiffany & Co. Foundation and Chief Sustainability Officer at Tiffany & Co. Through these dual appointments, she drives the company’s global sustainability and philanthropic agenda, connecting it to brand value through marketing and communications, merchandising, investor relations, risk management and internal culture.

 

Since 2013, Anisa has served as Chairman and President of the Tiffany & Co. Foundation, which implements the company’s philanthropic strategy supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to the stewardship of natural resources and empowerment of local communities, in the areas of responsible mining and marine conservation.

 

Anisa also drives Tiffany & Co.’s ESG (environmental, social, governance) priorities, putting them at the commercial heart of the business while advancing a culture of purpose. She developed and oversees Tiffany & Co.’s metrics-driven ESG effort, which has been recognized by investors and the private and nonprofit sectors for its substance and transparency. Anisa is leading Tiffany & Co.’s effort to become a net zero company in greenhouse gas emissions, and she has cultivated strong relationships with ESG constituencies, the investment community, leading private sector ESG companies and global NGOs to support the company’s leadership across a range of public sector, environmental and social policy matters, including responsible sourcing, certification systems and human rights. Under Anisa’s leadership, in 2020 and 2021, Tiffany & Co. was ranked in the top 10 on Barron’s “Most Sustainable Companies list.” She has held a variety of other positions at Tiffany since joining the company in 2003. Prior to joining Tiffany & Co., Anisa held positions at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and J.P. Morgan Chase.

 

Anisa serves as a trustee of the Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge Foundation and sits on the board of directors of the American Swiss Foundation, Friends of the High Line and Oceans 5, a funder collaborative dedicated to protecting the world’s oceans. She’s also a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee of Philanthropy New York, having previously served on its board. Anisa serves on the Advisory Board of the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) as well as Conservation International’s Leadership Council. In addition, Anisa belongs to the Founders Circle of the B Team, a nonprofit initiative that aims to reposition private industry as a driving force for social, environmental and economic good. She previously served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Mining & Metals and as chair of the board of the Environmental Grantmakers Association.

 

Anisa has been widely recognized for her role in advancing Tiffany’s leadership in sustainability and philanthropy. In 2017, she was named one of 12 forward thinkers at the intersection of sustainability and style by Marie Claire magazine, and in 2018 she was named to Vogue Australia’s inaugural list of “game changers” for her work driving Tiffany & Co.’s ESG agenda. In 2020, Anisa was named as one of the 25 “women shaking up the climate movement” and has been featured in the Town & Country list of “Top Philanthropists” and was named a LinkedIn ”Top Voice in Philanthropy and Global Development. Anisa has been published in the Huffington Post, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Virgin.com and Philanthropy Journal News; she has also served as a mainstage speaker at Our Ocean, the BloombergxVanity Fair Climate Summit, and other global convenings.

 

Anisa holds a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College and a master’s degree in International Economic Policy from Columbia University. She completed the Program for Leadership Development at Harvard Business School.
