The Tiffany & Co. Foundation is pleased to support the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy with a $1,000,000 grant over two years for the creation of the Battery East Vista, a new overlook along San Francisco’s Presidio. The Golden Gate Bridge is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2012 and the vista will provide a recreational area from which visitors can take in dramatic views of this national icon. Creation of the Battery East Vista is the culmination of a plan integrating 24 miles of new trails into the Presidio Trails Forever network, a world-class system of hiking and biking paths.
The Tiffany & Co. Foundation is pleased to contribute to the enhancement of San Francisco’s vibrant urban landscape and to further the city’s rich tradition of integrating innovative design into the natural world. Located just minutes from San Francisco’s city center, the Battery East Vista will be widely accessible to millions of residents and visitors each year.
This grant is awarded through the Foundation’s Urban Parks Program, which enriches communities by focusing on the rehabilitation, protection and creation of public urban green spaces for long-term use. The project’s anticipated completion date is Spring 2014.
